Yes, it is an awesome price. SO awesome in fact that it makes you wonder why allmediaoutlet would sell it so cheaply to us consumers...haha

Afraid you might get what you pay for here guys, I think any 4X DVD-R below $1.10sh each shipped might start sacrificing quality for savings.

  5. Wow, that is a great price!

59 cent coasters, tree ornaments, reflective wind chimes, baby stroller hub caps, laser refectors!

Hmm all kinda uses if they don't work for that price
I could glue em all over the car and the cops would never get me with those laser speed traps as I go by doing 85 in 55!

Even if they actaully only burned at 1x or 2x that's not a bad price, if they actually burn! And don't die!

I might try a pack later for less important stuff and see how they work.
If anyone else gets em, post back the results. It'll be at least a week or two before I can get any. My Ritek printables should be here today!

Good list, but not sure if I'd count on them as Laser reflectors or not.

  10. Talk about not researching at all....I've posted at least ~8 times myself that these disks are absolutely the first formula Matrix disks...they are the same crap as the HQ meritline sells. I've posted this MONTHS ago......bob w ...get some of these disks...I have a feeling they will work tremendously well for you with your special burners. Hey..you are 12 outta 12 with those Phony Maxells.....right Hoss? Why worry about a measly dollar and get crap media...go with those Phony Maxells ...hell man..you got a ton of them left....

just put in an order for several hudred bob...it's a known identity....you know those Phony Maxells work flawlessly....but I hear ya....a dollar is a dollar...you gotta shop around huh bob? Yea....So in addition to your "FOUR" types of media you only use..you can get these Extreme disks....i'm sure they are much better quality from when I posted....get em bob...and let us know.

  14. Prices are still coming down. Now I see 100 DVD-R for $0.57 from http://store.yahoo.com/cdrdvdrmedia/pw-wp100pk.html

All this off the wall online stores must be selling the same brand media and just calling it whatever they think sounds good to them.

  15. Posted this a couple of days ago -

I'm always trying new media for my Pioneer 105. Just got a 25 pk of xtreme 4x DVD-R from allmediaoutlet ($19), and a 25 pk of Sky 4X DVD-R from yesbuy ($22), both with free shipping.

The xtreme media (Media code LONGTEN) is pure crap. Packed very well, came in it's own spindle, first ten burns had errors at very beginning...waste of time and money. $59 a hundred with free shipping, but why bother?

The Sky media (Media code AN32) is great. Packed like crap, not in a spindle but shrink-wrapped, I've used 2/3 of the 25, perfect burns each one. They have these for $70 a hundred, free shipping.

As of today 10/11, the 4X Sky media is $63 a hundred with free shipping, and $118 for 200. I just ordered 200!

  16. Hmm I will have to try the Sky 4x media as I have had good luck with the Sky 2x DVD-R I received a week ago with my Pioneer 105 burner.

  17. Bob, who exactly makes that? Great price but I don't want to spend 57 dollars on crap.

  18. I have no idea who makes this media. If I had to guess I would say either Princo or Lead Data but then I really don't know.

That's my feeling too. There are more factors in a purchase, no matter what it is, other than dollar amount.

I wouldn't say either one, as they suggest you do not use this media in Panasonic DVD recorders. Panasonics love Princos and Lead Data discs, as CompUSA uses both companies to make their house brand DVD-R, and they work just fine in my E50.

An update on the xtreme 4X media...even when they come up with errors on my Pioneer 105, I can still use them for the full 2 hours in my Panasonic, so they are not a complete waste. Still won't buy anymore. Hopefully the 200 pieces of Sky media will continue to work as well as the first 25 pieces I brought...not a bad burn in the bunch!

UPDATE: the xtreme media doesn't even work right in the Panasonic at 1X! Total crap media!

I was going to try a 100 pack of the Sky media from yesbuy for $63, but the free shipping turned out to cost $12.84, so I cancelled.

  22. Henry, when you place your order there is a section that states the following -

Free Shipping and Handling Fees for 25pcs or more of "SKY 4x DVD-R" Item# 11-0092. UPS Ground only within USA! Shipping charge might show during checkout, but we modify it offline and you will NOT be charged shipping fee on 25pcs+.

You don't get charged when you place your order, you get charged when they make the price adjustment in their order system.

  23. They are for Pioneer, not Sonys
    Sale Price: $62.98/100pcs ($0.6298 each)

    Sonys use:
    Lead Data= Accus.

The URL you listed is Meritline by another name. If you look carefully at their website, you will see that their mailing address is identical to Meritline. Also they sell their BeAll disks at the same price as Meritline's 20% off price.
Which also makes you wonder how trustworthy Meritline is, when they artificially inflate their base price so they can "discount" it down to their regular price.
To prove all of this, I ordered some disks from cdrdvdrmedia.com, and they arrived in a Meritline box.

Which is why I've never ordered from Meritline, as their cdrdvdrmedia site always have the lower prices. I remember someone on the forum asked Meritline about the alternate site, and they replied that cdrdvdrmedia was a "newer" site, and they were trying to build business by offering the lower prices there.

Well, they don't actually have *lower* prices at cdrdvdrmedia, they have the *same* prices as Meritline, as long as you compare Meritline's "discounted" prices with cdrdvdrmedia's regular prices.

I don't understand exactly what Meritline is trying to accomplish by doing this, other than alienating those of us who know enough to look a little deeper than the surface.

    defense,
I just bought a 200-spindle of Winn-Dixie brand paper plates. I burned 2 out of the last 50 I bought with No coasters! They're great!
They're only about 2 cents each!

I have burned about 15 on my Pioneer 105 all at 2x. Also have burned five or so on my Sony DRU500ax and they burn at 2x. Today I used two of them in my Panasonic E50 for a LaserDisc to DVDR conversion and they also recorded OK. I have completely viewed about five of the backed up movies which played just fine all the way to the edge (used DVDshrink in auto mode).
