I'm trying both TMPGEnc Author and DVDlab (both have a 30 day trial). I'm trying to make a single menu that links to each chapter point and can't figure out how to do that with either one. I've looked through the guides their websites and can't find out how to do it. I've got about 14 days left on the 30 days trials and want to make sure I buy the one that does what I want.

So far I prefer TMPGEnc Author since it lets me select the start and end points of each clip. I don't see how I can do that with DVDlab. If it can be done in DVDlab I'd appreciate learning how.

  2. In DVD Lab you set the chapter points in the preview or movie window.
Open the connections window and in the menu you'll find "scene selection",
follow the instructons and you'll have a chapter menu in no time.

  3. BobK,

Have you read this guide (for TMPGEnc DVDAuthor):

    https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/172123.php

In TMPGEnc DVDAuthor, slide to the frame that you want to create a chapter point, and use the big button "Add current frame to chapter" to add chapter. To remove the chapter point, click on the chapter frame on the chapter list, and hit "delete" key.

I did look at that guide Viper, but I still can't figure out how to put buttons to each chapter on the menu.

In DVD Lab I did figure out how to set the chapter points but I haven't managed to get all the chapters in one menu. I'll look at it some more this week when I have time and see if I can get it.

So far I prefer TMPGEnc because I don't see any way to select a start and end point for each clip in DVD Lab. But I just don't have time today or tomorrow to keep looking. If I'm still having trouble after Friday I'll try to cut down the scope of my question(s).in no time.
