i remember an e-commerce course i took a few years ago... my prof said movie industries were worried because new algorithms were being developed to increase video compression by 10x or sumthin... which would mean a 600MB divx movie could be reduced to 60mb and shared easily on P2P networks... but, besides the minor tweaks to divx and windows media and realmedia, i have really seen any great progress on the video codec front...
anyone have articles, links, news, etc. that will show me we haven't hit a wall in terms of video compression? any new codecs/technologies in the works?
curiously,
buzz
