Used to create lots of avi videos using programs like ulead/corel video studio or virtual dub and compressing them with xvid, divx, h264 or ffdshow.. k-lite codecs pack always used to be installed. I have all the same stuff now, but non of the codecs is present! Nor xvid, divx, h264 or ffdshow! WTF?
Just WTH happened? In my 5 years of editing videos and using the same programs all the time, never would there be an absence of these codecs. All i see now are some BS xfire and intel video codecs.. What?
I always thought that these codecs come with installed programs, where do they come from anyway? How come i had them then, and do not have them now? Perhaps it is the k-lite codecs pack that installs them?

K-lite codec pack...
But they shouldn't disappear. Have you installed anything recently? Like another codec pack or some other video tool? And if you are using 64bit versions of your software(virtualdub etc) you also need 64bit vfw codecs. -
Or just try reinstall each codec manual, divx codec, xvid codec, x264 vfw codec.

The 64 bit version of k-lite codecs does not include media player classic, h264 ir xvid. I downloaded h264 and xvid codecs separately, but what about media player classic?
So though virtual dub now shows the installed codecs, corel video studio x3 does not...
