On several occasions I have burned a DVD with Ulead DVD Workshop only to find no audio playing on the DVD; (in the most recent case, my menu music tracks played OK).

I know I have to Multiplex the Audio when exporting MPEGs from Premiere 6.5. Apart from that I use presets for PAL 16:9 DV.

My latest coaster was created as follows: created my chapters and menus in DVD Workshop. When I used Advanced Settings (in order to select 16:9) to create & burn the DVD, I found it would not fit the disk so DVD Workshop had to re-encode the .MPG files to a lower bit rate. Could this be the clue to loss of Audio - it was OK in the preview?

Audio is the biggest bane when creating DVDs - each time I lose Audio there seems to be a different cause.

    Thanks for any help.

You do not say what type of audio you chose. Does it play with sound on the PC?
    There's no place like 127.0.0.1

What are the precise video/audio attributes of your source media?

For example, when I work with my DVD disc camcorder, I get MPEG-2 files with the following video/audio properties:

    NTSC drop frame (29.97 fps)
    MPEG files
    24 Bits, 704 x 480, 29.97 fps
    Field Order B
    (DVD-NTSC), 4 : 3
Video data rate: Variable (Max. 8800 kbps)
    Audio data rate: 256 kbps
MPEG audio layer 2, 48 KHz, Stereo

How do the specific video/audio properties of your source media compare?

Thanks. I'm away for a few days so am unable to provide the details. Will do so next week.
