  2. Sounds like a media issue. Have you backup up anything else on this discs and if so, are they as old or older than the BoB backups? That might be the only way to tell, unless you have other DVD players to test the discs on.

    Greetings,

What is the brand name of your DVD media?
I am doing a lot of researches since 2-3 weeks and I figured out (Thanks to many people here and especially thanks to lord smurf) that some cheap media don't last and you lose the data on the dvd.

Many readings tend to say to go with RITEK and OPTODISC for cheap media. For a comprehensive guide, go to lordsmurf site and read his guide on dvds. It is one of the best I read.

    Thank you

  7. If you go back and check a lot of your dvds youll have problems. I burnt over 100 princos and am just now having problems (including BOB). Now that im on Riteks there is no problem at all.

  8. I started with Retek and have done close to 250 burns. I only have had 4 problem burns, one was a bad disk, 2 I used the computer during the burn, and the last looks like the computer restarted in the middle of a burn.

I know there are cheaper options but I see no reason to experiment. I buy 100 at a time and like knowing that it will work.
