  1. Right now I've a Athlon 1.4 usually set at 1540Mhz and 256 DDR and a 45GB 7200 rpm UDMA 100 IBM drive, the OS is XP my DVD Player is a Denver 311 that its rated to acept XVCD at 3000kbps and XSVCD.

I've tryed to encode using several methodes including DVD2Avi but I need to have subtitles so that doesn't work for me.

The previouse methode I used was FlashMpeg with bbmpeg but the quality wasn't that good at normal svcd's bit rate and for some reason after a fiew minuts the speed decreased to almost 0fps sometimes 1fps but most of the time it would stay at 0. Anybody experienced this ?

I've experienced the methode using Divx 1.5 togethor with TMPGenc, this was the one I enjoyed more really easy, suported subtitles, and the quality was suberb exept one problem when I tryed to play in my DVD player the image would stop sometimes and I see a lot of garbadge just like it wasn't decoded propraly, but the quality of the picture was great besides that problem.

I've also tryed using only divx 1.5 to decode it was slower tham with TMPGenc the quality was about the same but I saw exacly the same problem has with previouse methode.

I also tryed using Flashmpeg and TMPGenc but for some reason it just doesn't work I installed the avisynthetiser put the files in system and system32, has I've done with the methode divx 1.5 and TMPGenc started Flask X 4.1 in with the video server plugin but when I start TMPENnc and try to open the vbs or IPCServer0.AVI it says that the file format is invalide

I've heard that CCE is the best I only found the CCE 2.6 and cracked it but I don't know how to do it I tryed to send the IPCServer0.AVI into the CCE windows but it give a mesage error. Anybody knows a guide or has the patience to explain me how to do this?

    Thanks in Advance.
Hey ! Let's be carefull out there :)

I suggest to use dvd2avi, Avisynth and its MPEG2dec plugin to frameserve and CCE SP 2.5 as encoder. Here is another cce guide.
For subtitles I suggest to use vobsub as subtitle filter.
Use it with Avisynth as follows:

    LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\MPEG2DEC\MPEG2DEC.dll")
    LoadPlugin("C:\Program Files\vobsub 1.61\vobsub.dll")
    mpeg2source("D:\matrix\matrix.d2v")
    Crop(0,72,720,432)
    BicubicResize(480,320,0,0.6)
    AddBorders(0,128,0,128)
    VobSub("D:\matrix\vts_02_0")

Before frameserving you have to configure vobsub. Run the batch file, open *.ifo, select a language and press the wide buttom in the middle of the window. Vobsub now writes a new index. After that close the configuration dialog, write the Avisynth script ("vts_02_0" refers to the .ifo, .sub and new .idx files). Define the full pathes to MPEG2DEC.dll, vobsub.dll and the dvd2avi project.
