    I followed these 2 guides https://www.videohelp.com/divxtovcd#audio & https://www.videohelp.com/tmpgenc.htm.

I get a fully working MPG file (Works perfectly in Windows Media Player & PowerDVD). But when I burn this MPG to SVCD with Nero and I put the CD into my DVD-standalone my Widescreen TV & Normal TV cut off some of the video, I read that this was normal and it isn't a very big problem. But the main problem is subtitles. This TV-show doesn't have any but only one in the beginning of the group that converted this tv-rip to digital format. What would be the best setting to get this grouptitle to be shown on television. I tried several settings like 1:1 VGA & 16:9 display but this doesn't solve problem, I have one setting also on Full Screen [Keep Aspect Ratio]. Can somebody plz solve this problem !!! THX in advance !

Are you saying the video has subtitles in the beginning of the video and they go missing because some of the video is cut off because of the normal overscan of tv`s or that they go missing completely?

The video doesn't have subtitles only one line in the beginning. This isn't be shown completely because of the overscan yes.

    Some extra information:

This is a NTSC 2 PAL Conversion

    Source information:

432x324 25fps (So it isn't a NTSC but PAL source)
    DivX MPEG-4 Low-Motion

if your using tmpgenc to do the encoding then use center(custom size) and crop it with 15 pixels on the sides for the overscan

I'll post my steps of my next try !

    1. Opened TMPGenc
    2. Select format: SVCD PAL CBR (standard format)
    3. Opened my avi and my wav, non-interlace, 1:1 VGA
    4. Other Settings:

Rate Control Mode: 2 Pass VBR (Best Q right?)

Motion Search Precision: Highest Quality (Very Slow)

    Video Source Type: Non-Interlace (Progressive)

Field Order: Top FIeld First (Field A)

    Source Aspect Ratio: Center (Custom Size) 320x240 = 335 x 255

    Rest unchanged

you have to also set the custom size to match what you see and reduce the pixels by so if your original size is 432x324 then you set it to 417x309,do a short encode to get the results you want

to get a better feeling for cropping goto tmpgenc/setting/clip frame/arrange setting and choose center(custom size) and then adjust the settings so that you get about 15 pixels of black border

I tried both ! But now I can see the subtitles but my screen is to small and filled with black borders. I'll try some other settings.
