  1. hi guys!
i was just wondering whether there is an fx / filter (e.g. for virtual dub) "out there" which i can place at the start / end of a video clip and which makes it look like an old tv set is being turned on / off - you know, the one where the tv picture starts stops with this dot in the middle of the screen and then enlarges ...

Hello again. :c) I've never seen Vdub "effects".

For the things you are wanting to do - this and your other thread, why not try a trial version of a more robust program? :c) Maybe long enough to get the things you need out of it.

Try Ulead stuff. It can do both of what you've asked for.

  5. For those sort of effects, I think you could try an app called MovieXone - I think there is a freeware version of it, although it probably can't do everything the full version can.

    cheers,
    mcdruid.

P.S. Actually, just searched for that, and it looks like the developer have stopped distributing the free version.

You might find a copy of it on a mirror somewhere though?

Actually, Gees has the best answer, in my opinion. Ulead's Video Studio 7 (trial ware) has a transition that reminds me of old TV: under the F/X, it is called "Power Off". By transitioning it from a black video, it is "TV on", and vice versa to "TV off".
    Hello.

Yep. :cD I told them in one of the 3 threads within minutes of each other that it could do that, plus other stuff they wanted. :cD

Maybe they are DLing it now.
