  1. I have this problem with Scenarist. I can't make subpictures that spane over different scenes. I've tried making two subpictures; one in one scene and one in the other, but they cause a lot of problems. It would just be easier if I could make one subpicture that could span over two scenes.

  3. No. I mean that Scenarist will not let me drag a subpicture over two scenes.

It cuts off the end point of the sub where the scene ends by default. To change this look in the properties browser of that sub and double click on the little data folder. Increase the data end time to the duration you want that sub to be. Now it will extend past the scene change.

Keep in mind that if you jump to that scene point then the sub won't display. You'd have to play from a point prior to the scene change in order to see it. This is a limitation of the DVD standard.

  5. Thanks. I tried that but there is a problem. After the scene change, it waits for about 2 seconds and then is plays the sub. How do you make it seemless.

Do you mean after jumping to the scene where the latter part of the sub is? Like this...

    [scene 1][scene 2]
    [___sub___]

If you jump to scene 2 here than the sub will not appear right away, or at all. Like I said, this is just a limitation of the DVD standard.

If you are playing from the start of scene 1 and the sub doesn't play through the scene change seamlessly, then something is wrong. Can you maybe host your project file somewhere so I can take a look at it?

  7. I fixed it. I made the two scenes into separate tracks, then I just made the subpictures for each track identical and placed them right after the other. This makes the transition seemless, but there is still one problem. When it changes tracks, the button that was selected in the first track is not the button that is force selected in the second track. Could you please tell me how to make it so that the button that was selected in the first track is force selected in the second track as well.
