  1. Ok, I finally have a Powerbook G4 and al the equipment *required* to edit a DVD-RAM bruned on my Panasonic DMR-HS2 Recorder, I used Dantez Firmware upgrade to get my UJ-518 to recognize DVD-RAM Discs so it's now labeled Matshita UJ-518A instead of Matshita UJ-518.

Anyway here's the problem, I put the Disc into my Superdrive and it starts to spin up like it's going to read it, and then it spits it back out at me!

What software can I use besides DVDSP that will make my Mac running OS X 10.2 "Jaguar" play DVD-RAM Disc's?

I simply can't afford a $500 dollar programm to edit Videos I recorded off of the TV, if there's anything cheaper, MUCH CHeaper, think Freeware/Trailware and aa maximum price of about $50 preferrably around $30 could someone mentiion it?

The cheaper the betteer obviously but I just want to get this Disc to read in my Mac for editing, it's a Memorex DVD-RAM and was burned on a Panasonic DMR-HS2 DVD Writer.

Any help is apprciated as always.

    Hello

I donīt know if your powerbook can read RAM discs, I read it ia a external LaCie DVD RAM, the second problem is that DVD RAM uses UDF 2.0.1 and Jaguar donīt support it, you need ReadDVD from Sotfware Architects, I hope Panther can read UDF 2.0.1.

    Bye

  3. Well, I just bought ReadDVD from SA and I'm still having the same problem I was having before, now keep in mind that I've tried to DVD-RAM's and the UJ-815A "Firmwaree Upgrafde" is *supposed* to make the G4 Superdrive read DVD-RAM's, and according to toast this machne does, however as soon as I take the Disc and stiick it in the drive it trys to read it and then spits it out at me.

If anyone else is having this problem, or has found a solution, please share it.

I now havr ReadDVD and the Firmware upgrade from Dantez that makes the drive a UJ-815A, but this still won't read DVD-RAM burned on my DMR-HS2 Panasonic Writer which, quite frankly, is what I bought ReadDVD for.
