If a video source is using this fps do I need to do anything special in TMPGenc to make it come out right? I see its not quite .976, the film setting. I heard if its a few fps off it can cause some sync problems is that true? How should I set my settings for this type of file?

don't see how it could cause a problem, but you may need to stretch the audio just a tad. Even with a 2 hour clip you would be at most 7 frames off, which is about 1/3 of a second.
Then again i'm not very good when it comes to frame rate conversions and stuff, and I still have no clue what the heck 3:2 pulldown is.. so maybe i'm not the person to be asking this.
All I can suggest is try encoding and see what happens.
I have noticed when trying to capture from analog sources if I specify 23.976 I usually end up with like 23.978 or 74.. never exactly what I asked for.. but it hasn't given me a problem yet.. maybe it's because I'm only capturing 3-10minute clips though. -
Thanks, yeah I'm going to give it a try just wanted to see if there is anything that I should be aware of before hand. What is the 3:2 pulldown?
