    Hello,

I have a chance to get a Intel® Core™ i7-975 Processor Extreme Edition (8M Cache, 3.33 GHz, 6.40 GT/s Intel® QPI) for $250... I have a Intel® Core™ i7-950 Processor (8M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 4.80 GT/s Intel® QPI) now.. I do alot of 3d modeling and Cad/Cam programming... I also game on it sometimes... Will I notice a difference if I get this processor? I have 12gbs of gaming ram and two SSD drives... I have a 1366 socket mother board so it will fit.... Or would I be better with more cores like a i7-970 six core processor..

    Thanks

Might be a tiny bit more faster but not worth spending another $250.A i7-970 would be better.
    I think,therefore i am a hamster.

  3. overclock your cpu ( i7 can easily go to 4 ghz ) and spend your money on nvidia (cuda)based graphic card like gtx 570 or better( if you don't have already even so ) it will help massively on 3d render and gaming more than just cpu upgrade . If you ask me not worth it
