I am trying to convert a 2 1/2 hour movie from divx to kdvd that is split into to files. When i get the end of the options menu it says that just the first file is 185 mins and is too big to fit on an entire kdvd. Now call me crazy but I would think I should be able to 2 1/2 hours of kdvd quality video on a kdvd, let alone 1 hour 15 min. What am I doing wrong? This doesn't only happen with KDVD either, when I use the standard DVD template ffrom tmpgenc that gives me the same problem as well. when i try turning down the file percentage size, the smallest i can make it is 113%, which is like 6.6 gbs or something like that on a 2000 bitrate ,please help.

  2. that math doesn't add up..
2 1/2 hours at 2000bps should be, what.. 1.45 gig (did that math in my head, so I could be WAAAY off)

Sounds like VBR encoded audio to me.. Extract the audio with virtual dub, encode as elementary streams and author.. shouldn't have a problem then.
