  2. Like, the WinDVR, or the PVR that comes with the Adaptec Videoh!. I want to know if they will work with my DirecTV box. I would like to know to help me make my decision on which to get.

Yes I have all of Intervideo's products. If you are looking for a really great program to work with Videoh! then check out Snapstream.com. I have been using this software for 3 months now and have a dedicated Ice-Cube, P-4 box with a Win PVR 250 (has an MPEG 2 encoder like yours). It has a great user interface and works better than a TIVO. Allows streaming over a network and allows you to recompress to alot of different standards such as IPAQ which I use on My pocket PC. Stores all your recordings in a library and allows you to add DIVx files and music as well. You can download the trial and check it out. I record in full DVD quality, de-mulitples with TMPGEnc and then IFOEdit to author. From there I use DVD Shrink to re-author and shrink if needed. Final note. I have used WIN DVR, but after finding this software, I don't use it.

Post a question on the forum for Snapstream. A guy named RobertH should be able to answer your direct TV question there.

Trying to read your mind here. Are you asking if any of that software will do things like change the channels on a directTV system? As far as the rest goes, anything that will record from a line input will work with DTV, except for the changing channels part. Hope this helps.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I know there are a couple that wil change the channels for certain DTV IRDs, but the names escape me. Some also need a special rf transmitter instead of the usual IR module that you can buy.
