sounds like........ it is trialware encoding and that's like their watermark, but can't say for sure if you don't say what programs you used. :c)

It's probably not there if you purchase the program.

Your using a trialware mpeg2 codec from Moonlight-Elecard.
You will have to uninstall it to get rid of it. Should be under start - config panel - add/remove programs. I suggest after uninstalling it you download the trail version of WinDVD or PowerDVD install that and use the mpeg2 codec from that.

I know this, because I was looking for a mpeg2 codec for watching videos and ran across that codec and saw the squares after I installed it. Then read in these fourms that if you install WinDVD or PowerDVD they have thier own codecs and even if you uninstall them (win, power dvd) after the trail period ends their codecs will remain.

GSPOT, and then open and render an MPEG file.

  11. i use g-spot and it seems that there must be an elecard mpeg 2 codec
    installed on my computer

the problem is that it is not listed in the add/remove so i can not uninstall it

is there any other way to uninstall it or is there a program that can do that
    for you.

because i have no idea where the elecard mpeg 2 codec is installed.

GSPOT will tell you the EXACT codec location of you click on it. Manually go and delete the file. Reboot. Should be good now.

'AnalogX DXMan' shows most codecs - also has a remove button!

maybe that's good candidate for the TOOLS section :c)

unless it's there already, I didn't spot it.
