  1. I use VCDEasy to make the CUE/BIN from MPEG2 files. So far so good. Now the burningprocess. I've tried out almost every single burnprogram available (Nero, VCDEasy, Burnatonce, CDRWin 5). All programs lock during the burning session!
    Is it my writer? I have the LITE-ON LTR12101B writer. It starts off fine but then, as stated, it locks completly.
    Any settings I need to adjust? OS is Windows ME. No need to state than I'm a beginner at this, is it? Please help, I'm tired of making coasters....

  2. Is it only when burning bin/cue files it locks up ? If so, does it only lock up when the bin/cue files are DVD/S/VCD ? or anykind of bin/cue file will lock up ?

  3. Make sure you have the latest firmware and drivers for it. And are you using generic drivers in burnatonce/vcdeasy?
    Ejoc's CVD Page:
    DVDDecrypter -> DVD2AVI -> Vobsub -> AVISynth -> TMPGEnc -> VCDEasy

    DVD:
    DVDShrink -> RecordNow DX

    Capture:
    VirualDub -> AVISynth -> QuEnc -> ffmpeggui -> TMPGEnc DVD Author

    Well, I've only tried (S)VCD CUE/BIN files, so...
    It's really strange. My writer goes from writing mode (the light indicator on the writer is red) and suddenly it freezes and goes into what seem like reading mode (green light indicator). I've been having some ASPI trouble, but have gotten the latest ASPI driver installation "approved" by all used software. I've read that all other tasks should be closed during the writing session, but I can only think of my Norton being active in the background.
    This is doing my head in, I definatly have to invest in some RW's....
    Any idea whats wrong?

  5. Hmmm...ok, I dont want to tell you to mess with your ASPI layer too much cause I dont want to have you screw up anything. But thier is a program called Force ASPI if you need it. I believe that ASPI layer 4.61 is the prefered version and not the latest 4.70. But ask someone to be certain as it has been awhile since I had to mess around with ASPI. Do regular data/audio cd's burn fine ? Is this only an issue with image files (bin/cue,iso,etc...) ?

    And Ejoc brings up a good point, do you have the latest firmware for your cd-writer ?

    I've always used Adaptec Easy CD maker for the audio CD's (came installed with PC), but I'll try to make an audio CD.

    Just got it from the internet, and ran the program. Thanks for the tip Ejoc! Hope I got THAT right as well (DOS mode on a modern computer without a boot disc, is well u know....) It said "Abort to reflash" so I guess that worked(?).

    Thanks a bunch. Good forum this, with almost INSTANT help!
    I'll bother you again if neither helps.
    Well, no-coaster-city, here I come! Hopefully...

    I've tried updating the firmware, but it doesn't work. I've got the LKU6 firmware, so the flash utility doesn't support it. The driver used in Burnatonce is Generic-mmc-raw. Strange, but it's "only" the new and more advanced burn utility's that lock up/freezes. My Adaptec Easy CD makes audio CD's with no problems (came with my HP). Is it possible to burn bin/cue images with Adaptec?

    Thanks mate, but I've abandoned the use of my Lite-on Lt12101b writer. It was the writer that were causing all the fuzz.

    Managed to borrow an external one with USB, and everthing worked like a charm!
