You have 12 VTSs. I.e in DVD topology terms you have 12 Titles and each tile consists of one chapter (equivilent to your single episode mpg). Next/Prev navigation is esentially chapter navigation. As you can see it isn't going to do anything here. You need to do Title navigation. Now how to do that varies depending on your player. I do Goto>Title>X where x is the title i want to jump to.

Obviously the menu offers title navigation too. And the post title instruction is return to the menu. So after a given episode you should return to then menu and be able to choose another. Pressing the "Title Menu" button on you remote will also return you to the menu (the button may be disguised/named something else on your remote - RTFM)

Going forward I am looking at other navigation options:

    - Return to menu after a title (this is what we currently have)
    - instead of returning to menu play next Title
    - the "play all" menu button. combines the first two items. More complex but is the "holy grail". https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=178350

Hi, capone and everyone (especially ChrissyBoy)!

I have a similar problem (but only with DVD from VCD-files). In my case the trouble starts when I press a button to start an episode (all the same whether there are 2 eps or 10 on the DVD). The episode starts in the upper left quarter of the TV-Screen, is blocky and audio is destorted.

I tried 2 ways (from the start):

1.) Press menu Button (plays blocky), Stop, Play (still blocky, bad picture), Next Track (plays ok), Previous Track => plays now ok, too.

2.) Press menu Button (plays blocky), Next Track (plays ok), Previous Track => plays now ok, too.

I tried this on a Pioneer 525, will try it today on my second player CyberHome AD-M 212.

I created the DVD with a VTS for every episode, with and without chapters. In each case the result is as described above. In case "with chapters" there is also the problem that I have only audio and no video when I skip to the next chapter.

When i do the same creation-process without menu, the DVD starts the first episode without problems. I'm not sure if here the troubles with the no-video-when-skipping-to-next-chapter also arise because I tried all these variations last night until 3 o'clock in the morning (...yawn...) .

Only to the memory: these problems occur only with VCD-files (PAL and NTSC, both variants: mixed and not-mixed).

When I'm looking at the post from keziah (https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=179938), I'm surpised because his problem is the other way round than mine (first chapter troubles, following chapters o.k.) although he didn't say what kind of files he is working with (VCD, SVCD).

    awaiting curiously any comments

    greetings

    O.K., I think I'm still sleeping.

Should try to write my posts quicker (seems it took me about an hour) and/or read updated posts during writing.

After CB's replies to capones troubles it seems the nature of the problem differs from mine. Anyway I think its still the right topic for the trouble with tribbles... ähh.. chapters.

Hope you can help me out.

    Thanks
    drake

P.S.: Forgot to mention that I use the latest update of svcd2dvd 1.5 from 22nd september.

I am having the same issue, but it is with SVCD also. If you use menutype II, I get no video at all and only audio...It just stays at the menu screen and the audio plays. If I choose menu type I, the first track will work fine no problem, but the only the audio will work on the second track. I wish there was a way I could fix this without having to use another dvd authoring program. So far, the only way I can fix this is to use Ulead DVD Movie Factory to author my DVD's. But I very much dislike this because MF only allows one mpeg file per track.
