    Hi.
Does anybody know howto make menus to work with DivX5 encoded files? I have 9 DivX encoded files that i want to burn on a dvd-r, but i'd also like to have a menu, so that i can select the videoclips's with the remote control. I have the Sigmdesigns Xcard.

  2. Do you mean that you're going to put DivX avi files on DVD to play in your DVD player? It doesn't quite work that way.

To make a compliant DVD, you have to use MPEG2 encoded video files, then author them in an authoring program, like DVDlab, Ulead DVD Workshop, or another program that will take the video files, menu, etc and make them into a compliant DVD structure. Most programs will give you the ability to encode the avi files into the proper MPEG format. If you have a program that won't do that, then you'd need a program like TMPGenc to convert the avi files to mpg.

MPEG is the only video format that DVD players will understand, plus to make proper DVDs, they use a very specific file structure (you can't just burn some .mpg files to a DVD-R and expect it to play in your DVD player).

Also, you make no mention of what program you are using or intend to use. Every program works differently.

  4. not really possible you have to code a app to work with your remote just to display the avi's which will open through a different program in which you probly have to set to full screen. Also you can't put menu's into avi files because they arn't setup that way.

The Sigmadesigns Xcard is an mpeg1,2 & 4 card with an rgb-video output. So that you can watch divx encoded movies on your tv or projector. And it's controlled by a remotecontrol.
So then i want to have 4 to 5 divx encoded movies on a sigle dvd-r.

But i wonder how to make a menu, so that i can chose witch movie to watch.
