It might be a better idea to make your own topic rather than taking over someone elses.

To answer your question it is very easy to do this with shrink, just read one of the many tutorials on it.

  3. @ sandmanfvr,

A few tutorials that might be of help.

How rude. I made my own topic, thank you very much, but I was directed to THIS topic. Kind of tacky how you are told to "go here" and then scolded for going to where you were directed to go. PLUS, this topic is about DVDShrink, so my question is valid and I am not taking over any topic. Also, I know there is guides, thanks for tell me the obvious. But I wanted some opinions from real people on how the software works (can't get that from reading a guide). If you can't reply with a helpful suggestion, then quit replying with "go read a guide". A child can make that reply...

I said that it could be done, and i feel that the best way of replying is to say read a guide, as there is very little point in repeating the information again in a post. It can be done, it is easy, I am not rude.

in my eyes that post was not worthy of a reply even though I nearly replied and if you had read this post instead of adding to it then you would have seen ddlooping's post HERE which is about the 7th reply regarding guides and there is also plenty of information around is you look hard enough. YMost of your post asked for info which has nothing to do with the Original post so maybe this is why that was implied by PyrosofT, so he was not rude, he just said what most probably thought

You haven't made your own topic either (if it was in this forum) as you were also told in another thread in this forum HERE to do a bit of searching and reading by overloaded_ide and if you had you wouldn't be asking your questions, so it looks that good advice fell upon deaf ears

the content of your post may also have had an effect on how people judged you

anyway, rant over and welcome to the wonderful world of DVDRHELP forums

I can suggest one thing though, if you have a DVDROM player at the minute, why not try DVDShrink now even if you don't have a DVD Burner. At least you can get some practice first and realise how super easy it is to do what you want

    *sigh*
I am just asking opinions from fellow dvd burners (and wanna be burners like myself) on how well this works and if there are any quirks; also how satistified they are of the quality. You can't get that from a guide ok? (If you can get interaction from a guide, then tell me how or what you are smoking/taking) I read this topic, and it was all about helping the topic starter (which is good). I research alot, I read and go to guides, look and learn. BUT, I don't want to get into something and waste money. Neither reading a guide, watching a flash guide on DVDshrink.info, nor just gathering info can obtain what I need. I will resay what I need one more time. If is not "worthy" of your time, then don't reply. I am sure somebody else can assist me.

My question/request: I have read all the info on DVDshrink and backing up dvd movies. I want to back some movies up (movie only) and want opinions of those who have used it. How has the software worked and have the results been great/good/ok/bad/horrible. Thank you.

the info to answer those questions are out there. The only other thing that you could really do without a burner(if you have a DVDROM) was to process a DVD yourself using DVDShrink, as it costs nothing to try it on your Hard Drive, to see if you can use it

Seeing as you have just repeated your question, tell me what that has to do with burning a VIDEO_TS folder?, so now you can see why you would have got a better response postng the actual question in a new thread

There are more than enough posts about DVDShrink than you could ever read if you just look. You will probably be happy with the results produced by version 3 Beta 5 anyway, so give it a bash

    p.s. I don't smoke or take anything

  9. "Has anybody done this with DVDShrink and if you have, how did it work? (examples would be nice)."

You asked for examples, and I don't see what else we could give you but a step-by-step guide.

If you meant titles of DVDs that we have successfully backed-up with DVD Shrink and were happy with the quality, then I backed-up quite a few and was very happy with the results.
You don't want to waste your money, and I don't want to waste my time listing them all.

You don't have a DVD burner but can still test DVD Shrink by viewing the backups from your hard-drive using WinDVD or PowerDVD.

  10. I can't believe this. "Don't hijack a thread". Well hell, I was talking on the topic which was DVDSHRINK!!! Damn people, I thought every board on the net wanted to keep the amount of topics/spam down. I was just reusing the thread (which the topic starter IS NOT USING and others have taken it off topic as well). overloaded_ide told me to go there, now I got a warning and s***. Forget it, bunch snot nosed brats. I can read the guides, look else where and such. Thanks everybody for ruining my experience here on the forums. Way to "help" and person just wanting some opinions from other people. Good job. Don't expect me to use this piss poor board again.
