I've got a downloaded MPEG1 video which I want to use to create a VCD by using VCDEasy. Only trouble is that it has some errors in it which prevent VCDEasy from being able to read it.
I've tried all the tools on this site for fixing MPEG streams and none have worked thus far. I'm still trying MPEGRepair but this program has very poor help and documentation and is not at all easy to figure out how to use.
Can anyone help or recommend anything to try. Even a program which can identify where the errors are exactly so I can cut them out would be a help.
Thanks

Use virtualdub to check for bad frames and fix them. Your new fixed file will be avi though which will need converting to mpg thus losing quality (2 re-encodes). You could try going straight to re-encoding as vcd with tmpgenc, thats worked for me in the past. Your file will be playable just might have some blocky frames where there were errors on the original.
