Apart from the freeware/trialware issue, can anyone definitively recommend which DVD transcoder is the best? I've read about a gazillion comments, guides etc but the jury seems to be out on which one is the best. Primarily, I'm interested in picture quality over menus/extras and/or speed. I'm leaning toward DVD shrink but also have the option to use Recode so expert advice (or just user experience) would be appreciated.
TIA
JDC

There is no answer to this question. Video quality is subjective, dependant on your DVD player, viewing screen, and mostly your own eyes.
Test all three and select the one your eyes tell is best.
