well after finally converting the .avi file i had into a valid mpeg-2/dvd format i burnt it onto a dvd-r. (the tool i used was the film machine) now the problem i get when i go to play the film on a stand-alone dvd player (pioneer) the movie will either pause/freeze, audio will cut out, audio make weird noises. all of this is fixed with just scanning a few seconds ahead but i would like to watch the movie without constantly having my hand on the control :P
do any of u know what the problem is or how to fix it?
now im taking a guess but i was reading that princo/ritek (lite-on cd that i got with the drive) are not liked by many players i will try it on another player to see if i get the same errors. but if theres anything else....
Thanx for the help![]()

Pausing skipping could be the way it was burned, or bad media.
The ausio issue might be caused by the type of audio compression you used. IF you used MP2 and your player doesn't like it, it could act weird. Try either PCM audio, or if you don't have the room, use BeSweet or Headache to convert to AC3 -
thank you i will try that.
also when playing the film on my other dvd player there is no problem whatsoever im guessing it is the media so i will try on a different one. i guess im just gonna have to find the right settings that work on 'most' players
cheers for the help
