  1. I just encoded a backup of a dvd to my hard drive.
The result were 6 different VOB files along with 6 accompanying auxiliary files.
My Pinnacle Studio 8 does not recognize these files
I'm looking for a a good DVD ripping program I can download to burn the backup DVD. I would prefer feeware, or any other suggestions.

    Thanks for your help!

  2. Did you try clicking "GUIDES" in the left hand menu bar?

    Good luck!

  3. TMPGEnc DVD Author has a burning engine in it. If you can create and ISO then DVD Decrypter can burn that to do what you want as well.

  4. Thanks for your help. The guides are good, but the problem is that DVD Decryptor apparently only works on ISO files that it created
The VOB files created by DVD Shrink will not be recognized.
How can you go frm a VOB to an ISO file format???
I'm familiar with .avi and .mpg but war are ISO and VOB files?

  5. To convert VIDEO_TS folder files(ifo, vob) to ISO use ImgTool Classic 0.90

  6. Why not just use burning software, make your VIDEO_TS & AUDIO_TS folders and burn as DVD-Video?

The VOB and accompanying files are there, so you should be able to use Nero, Easy CD/DVD, RecordNow or whaterver burning software you have.

  7. I have tried to use IMGTOOL to no avail. It just keeps popping up warning boxes about vts folders needed below or somthing like that. Any imgtool experts out there? I like to use ddvddecrypter to burn with because it isn't choosy about the type of media in my sony dru500a.

  8. How did you back up your source DVD? Are all of the files in the VIDEO_TS folder?

My first thought would be that you didn't copy VTS sectors when you backed up the DVD. OR you didn't put the VIDEO_TS folder on the root dir (which IMGTOOLS wants/needs). OR you didn't make the folder all caps (it does matter).
