  3. That means that your hard drive/dvd/cd drive couldnt keep up pumping data to the dvd burner, so take the burn speed down to 1x, and the burn should complete..

And check to see if your burner has something called "Burn Proof", it sounds like you dont have it since your getting burn error. Solution, burn at 1x

It could be lots of things.

Have you ever burned +R/W at 1xspeed on a PC recorder?
    2.4x is the standard speed

  7. Can't really burn +R/W at 1x on a PC recorder.

    DVD-R/W 1x, 2x, 4x
    DVD+R/W 2.4x, 4x

IMO it sounds like a firmware that doesn't know a new and/or 4x media,
or a fragmented HDD or DMA problem.

Thats why I asked the guy to tell us more details.

Forget about 1xDVD+R recording on a PC

  10. I kept getting the same problem
went back to nero 5.5 no problems

I think it's a problem with nero 6 not your setup

try nero 5.5 see what happens

It should be OK but could be a bad batch of discs.

Last time I had an error like this my HDD was totally fragmented,
    and defragmenting solved the problem.

I don't know if theres a couple of bugs still exist in Nero6 but
the latest Nero5 (5.5.10.50) and RecordNow work fine for me.

    1. Is your burner properly connected?
    2. Aren't you having a buffer underrun?(very visible in Nero)
    3. Is your HDD defragmented before burning?
    4. Have you had similar problems before or they just occured?
    5. Have you tried other burning software or uninstall-install Nero again?
    6. Have you tried different media?

  12. Just to be sure

Check your DMA setting (use powerdvd diagnostic)
Check your ASPI (try Copy2DVD that don't use ASPI)

And you forgot to answer my and vric's questions, but we're not gonna bother you anymore.

PS: writing a plus rewritable is much more easier for the burner than a write once media, and the latest Nero5 is 5.5.10.50 at the moment

    Take care

Have you tried playing these discs on a set top player . I had this problem some time ago , but it went away by itself . Could have been bad media . The reason I ask this this is because the discs I had this problem with would still play . If it was a write error it would stop playing somewhere in the movie . If it was a could not perform end of session error it would play the whole movie . Give it a try . Good luck .
