  1. Got loads of films which are in xvid format.

I've converted avi to mpeg before, but vitualdub wont accept the file type XVID (it loads it but when I save the wav it says no wav to save)

I used something called avi2wav which looked like it worked, but I'm not sure.

Then I used TMPGEnc Plus but it just keeps on bringing up errors.

What can I used to convert XVID to MPEG? I'm having so much trouble.

Do I need to have a certain codec? My media player plays the files ok. using something called divx total pack.

Get Xvid codec at xvid.org, then virtualdub will work, and you can just use TMPgenc plus to convert the file.
We came, we saw, we kicked his ass!
