  1. Hope this is the right forum?

I got a problem with a svcd iīm creating.
I use virtualVCR to capture from my vcr and use "morgan" for compression.
    And it looks really good!

Then i open the avi in Virtualdub and start frame serv with the Deinterlace MAP.
And start tmpgenc and encode it.

And it looks god on the computer but when i burn it it dosent look that good.
It "cracks" u can se the pixels really good....

Is there a better way to capture?
Can i use some other filter?

I really need help.... i really new to this..

this should probably go in the "encoding" forum, because it sounds like your capture is fine.

can you go into more detail with the resolutions you are capturing in, converting to, and the bitrates you are using to encode?

also, what software are you using to burn, and how are you doing it?

The problem is probably the fact that you are making a SVCD and the quality is not as good as DVD

Although it doesn't make sense that it looks good on the computer but worse on your TV. Most standard interlaced televisions actually help to "hide" a lot of MPEG artifacts so generally a SVCD will look better on a TV than it does on the computer.

Perhaps it is an issue with the way you are burning or creating the SVCD CD-R disc? Maybe your stand alone DVD player doesn't like SVCD?

  5. But wouldīt the quality at least be simlar to the vhs?

    What is this "interlaced"?
I read somewhere that not all tv-brodcasts/movies are intrelaced
if mine isenīt could it be that i had tmpgenc belief that made it look bad?

I use vcdeasy to make bin/cue and nero to burn (5.5.9.9)
My DVD plays everything.. i dont got anyproblems with other svcd that are made of dvd source.

  6. If you plan on watching these on a TV I wouldn't De-Interlace them. Doing that will degrade the quality and there really is no need to do it. If you plan on watching on your PC just use a player that de-interlaces on the fly like WinDVD or PowerDVD
