  1. Well i demuxed the .ac3 from .avi. then i turned the .avi to mpeg2 and then i tried to put em in authoring software - dvdlab and tmpgenc author

None of them reconginez the .ac3, either it says its illegal mpeg audio stream or something like that or in dvdlab says the audio cant be packetized.

I tried running the .ac3 through ac3fix but it says it cant read it so im thinking i mustv demuxed it wrong ?? i dont know, but in the original .avi it sounded perfect. Its 48000 Hz and 482 kb i think which channel 5.

Maybe recommendations on how to demux it,wat to do next, nother option with same quality etc.

This is to put 3 seperate .avi's ,all same movie with same information, in 1 dvd but if i need to put it in 2 or 3 thats fine i guess. each avi is 1 hour long....help.

  2. Your AC3 file has a riff/wav header so that it can be muxed with an avi file. I think besweet can be used to fix it (?), If it can't I know there is software that can and someone will chime in with what it is....

I loaded the AVI into VirtualDubMOD.

Select Direct Stream Copy in Video section.

Select Full Processing in Audio section.
Under teh audi section selected Stream and changed the audio to Uncompressed PCM.

Did a SAVE AS and created a new AVI with vide and audio.

Loaded this into TMPGEnc and worked perfect. No sync problems. EVERY time I seperate audio from video I get sync issues. I found a site that says to NEVER seperate them if you can help it.

The file was 712Mb with AC3 and 1.2Gb with uncompressed PCM.
