This problem has been discussed before. I vaguely recall it being related to the capture card drivers or capture app drivers.

I had that problem last year and a reinstall solved it.

Unfortunately the search engine is down and I couldn't find the references for you.
There's not much to do but then I can't do much anyway.

    Status66uk,
I had the same maddening problem using a Nvidia card and the solution turned out to be reverting back to an older video card driver. You can do a search for "White Band" on the forum and probably find the post but here is the reply to me via a cut and paste:

    Hi Gritz,
You didn't say what you capture with but on the outside chance that you are using Nvidia drivers for your capture card this fixed the same problem for me as posted by another forum member in here.

Remove the current Nvida Video Capture (Universal) driver and then install the older version 1.08. No more Macrovision.

This did indeed fix the problem .... and I did need the older 1.08 driver. I was surprised ....... but releived. If you have a Nvidia card ..... this may do it.
