  1. One thing i couldnt figured out yet but i hope that you will help me on that is, I have a motion menu which is a m2v file and the respective sound file so far so good, i set it to loop exactly where i want and it works just fine because it starts with a presentation which is a huge globe that starts to spin and then some good looking pipes come out of the globe and when they are all out of the globe the options are highlighted and i can navigate the menu for as long as i want cause it loops ok. it's already authored on a dvd with a film with selectable subs, chapters, everything etc etc etc...The problem is, say that i'm watching the film and i want to go to the menu, instead of going straight away to the highlighted options it starts from the begining of the presentation (the globe spining thing) until the highlighted options. How do i make it to go straight to the highlighted options??? Thanks in advance! Note that i just make it loop using dvdmaestro option for it, (i didnt use any other software like TMPGENC for example) to make the m2v file to loop. Thanks in advance!

  2. unless i'am mistaken i think that is one of the few things Maestro can not do but sonic Scenarist can.

If that is correct, what you could do is take that menu and edit it in whatever app so that it just shows your highlighted choices and insert this into the project as an extra menu. Have your play items go back to that menu instead of the full one when your dvd first starts.

  3. Well that's a real good possibility and it will do the work for sure! Thanks for the idea!

  4. Yes, I can across this same problem.

I just used tmpgend to split the clip into two parts...the intro and the menu. make the intro a movie and set it to first play...set its end action to the menu with the second clip at a full loop. There might be a half second delay when switching from the intro to the menu, but its tolerable for me.

    good luck

Oh, don't make it MORE difficult. If you read the manual, it's actually quite easy...

Author the clip, not as a MENU, but as a MOVIE.
You can easily make the movie LOOP.
Add a Chapter point where you want the Links to be Active.
Modify the Chapter point to include Menuing/Hotspots.
Use the SubPicture feature (at that point) to define the placement and actions of those hotspots.

Now, if you go somewhere and want to come back, you link it to the LinkActiveChapter, not the beginning. This will now be seamless! 8)

BTW, I have authored discs in Maestro this way before. It does work.

Thanks for the tip I shall def. try this.

I was looking to start doing this, and was going to be splitting them via tmpgenc but your right this is so much better.
Better Luck next time - 'Bub
