I used DVD Decryptor to rip a 2 disc DVD movie to 2 seperate folders. I then used the Re-Author feature in DVD Shrink 3.0 Beta 1 to Compress only the main movies from both into a single folder for a single DVDR. This worked fine since version 3 can drag titles from multiple windows. The results were each shrunk title having its own IFO. So now there are 2 titles which I then burned with Nero Express. When I played it on my stand alone only the first title played and there is no way to access the second title since there is no menu. Is there a way using DVD Shrink and Re-Author to combine both titles to one?

Ok, here's what I did. This may work for you.
I wanted to back up GONE WITH THE WIND, this DVD is a "flipper", the movie is on both sides of the disc.
I ripped side A with SMART RIPPER, into a separate folder, then I repeated this procedure; ripped side B of the dvd, into a completely different separate folder.
I then put the first side through DVD Shrink, isolating only the UN COMPRESSED movie into a separate folder, labled "shrunk side A". I did NOT COMPRESS this movie. ...then did the same thing with side B. Remember, I did NOT COMPRESS either side.
Then, I opened TmpgEnc DVD Author, which, by the way..is an amazing software.. this IS the "KILLER APP" for DVD back ups.
This guide will tell you in detail what to do =
http://users.skynet.be/contra/dvddouble.htm
I placed "Shrunk Side A" into DVD Author, went through the DVD Wizard..followed every step. You see, DVD Author then "Rips" the Mpeg2 files from the VOBS, then places them into a designated folder.
I then repeated the procedure with "Shrunk side B", DVD Author ripped the Mpegs to the SAME designated folder that it placed the mpegs from side A.
Once the DVD Wizard is complete.. of course; This software then allows the opportunity to create menus, chapters..it will even allow the retention of the original chapters, if that's what you want.
Then, when all is complete.. then click OUTPUT.. choose a folder that the finished product will be sent to. then click "Begin Output"
Now, with GONE WITH THE WIND.. the result was a very large DVD file..7.8 GIGS..
So..I then re-opened DVD Shrink...since I don't yet have version 3.0 beta.. I used DVD Shrink 2.3
Keep in mind that the original DVD of GONE WITH THE WIND had a Bit Rate of 7000 bits. It's a HUGE movie ~
I re-authored the large DVD file to "Movie Only"... then had to choose level 9 to get it down to a level where the entire movie would fit on one DVD..
I then burned the resulting VIDEO_TS folder with the burning utility in TmpegEnc DVD Author.
You may think that at level 9, a level this low would result in horrible quality...I was sceptical as well.. I halfway expected the results to look as good as a poor VCD.
I kept the 5.1 surround sound, also kept the opening 2 1/2 minutes of the Overture.. the 3 minutes of the Intermission, and the last 2 1/2 munites of Exit Music...all of this, with the complete movie is THREE HOURS, FIFTY TWO MINUTES long!
I watched the back up; the sound was amazing.. the VIDEO was simply outstanding...I did NOT see any artifacts, blockage, or pixilation...needless to say.. I was very pleased with the results of my experiment ~!
All of this tells me that it's possible even to back up my copy of LORD OF THE RINGS, THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS Extended version to ONE DVD.
Of course, I realize that every DVD is different..(maybe different bitrate, or even authored differently) so your milage may vary.
Hope that this works for you ~! -
Or you could try beta 3.
