I'm just trying an XviD 2 XSVCD encode for the first time and have a couple of questions. Firstly, I have read the XVCD page and done a quick test of 2 minutes of video to make sure my DVD player can play it - it can, so no problems in that respect.

1) My source video is 608x256 pixels. Does this mean that the largest XSVCD size I should go for is 608x456 for display on a 4:3 TV screen?

2) I did an encode of this video yesterday and thinking bigger is better I just chose the maximum size possible - 720x576 thinking that would be the best quality. I have ended up with an MPG sized 720x540 with black bands on all four sides - is that correct?

Thanks,

DRP
