Hi All-
Virgin's Broadband to Go USB (Novatel u760 on Sprint towers) aircard has just had a rate drop- Unlimited gigs for $40/mo. I don't have access to other broadband here, so this is a good deal for me.
I started watching Instant Netflix shows, and have been having an odd problem, given that Novatel's software says I have can have decent bars when it happens...like a dropped connection, even tho the laptop is stationary.
I remember from the early days of dialup that there used to be utility programa that pinged the ISP so that the phone line connection wouldn't be dropped.
Does anybody know of something similar that would keep the aircard active between buffer loadings?
Thanks in advance!![]()

Virgin BB2Go is a total piece of junk! I loaded my card with 40 bucks but only 20 showed up on screen. So I called customer care and after 2 hours on the phone, and no resolution, I just bought the 10 dollar amount. My PC then asked if I wanted to update my virus definitions. I selected ok. Then my 10 bucks was gone. SO I added another and watched 20 minutes of HULU then the show froze up because again, I was out of credits. I don't know why they call this broadband if it is so slow. I thought broadband was supposed to be quick. I use my Verizon cell phone to connect with much more success. I am waiting for my AT&T home modem as they too just dropped their rates to $15 a month for real high speed internet. As soon as it arrives, I will take this little piece of Virgin junk and smash it under my shoe. Virgin has the worst customer service and the worst overall coverage, period. Don't waste your money on this junk.
