I'm frustrated, can't get it in, doesn't work the way it's suppose to....you get the point! lol All joking aside here's the deal;
I'm not a complete n00b but I'm definitely no expert. I've used various freeware proggies like WinAVI and Diko etcetera and only lightly dabbled in others e.g. TMPEGnc. I have a bunch of x264 files that I want to convert to DVD to playback on my standalone. I've used WinAVI and seem to have okay results, but I was wondering if there is a better method using another piece of software perhaps that can do a better job quality wise? I'm using DL discs so I have more headroom. Any suggestions? If this is in the wrong section I apologies, please move accordingly. Thanks in advance.

FAVC! Or maybe ConvertXtoDVD.
ANd I changed your subject. Please at least add something that describes the main problem. -
TYVM! I'm trying that now actually! Seems good, I was quite surprised how good WinAVI did, it was only DVD quality in the end, but I knew it would. When I watch HD content I just use my comp, but I want to take these over to my pops house and he has a bigger screen than mine and converted avi's look crappy. Hopefuly this will work better.
Keep the suggestions coming. THANKS ALL!

You need to use a bitrate calculator like this one ---> CLICK HERE

Thanks up until now I was guessing! lol Little off topic but I have regular avi files I want converted, what is the best method to convert let's say 4 or 5 350MB or so avi files to DVD without much quality loss? Thanks again! YOU GUYS ROCK!

If you want to go over 2 1/2 hours then I would use Half D1 resolution (352x480 NTSC or 352x576 PAL) and when using Half D1 resolution you can easily go 3 to 4 hours with 3 hours to 3 1/2 hours being the "sweet spot" as far as I am concerned.

Was there an error log for FAVC?
Do you have the 64-bit version of avisynth and FAVC installed? .net framework installed? -
