    Try Nero 5 & WinOnCD.
    Both are burning software which have additional option of burning the CD-R as VCD or SVCD.
    Strongly recommended to convert your avi, asf or mpg to the correct MPEG-1/Mpeg-2 format before burning. Both Nero & WinOnCD can do the conversion process but it time comsume & you don't know the result until finished burning.
