  1. I get a problem when using the "adding subtitles guide" when u should start frameserving with vdub and then encode the movie with tmpgenc. When i am about to start encode i first choose the frameserve file in ope projects in tmpgenc and then it says "illegal stream format".

    Plz, help needed!

  2. I have the same problem! I can encode all night and all day long using the "regular" method. But now I need to add some subs and the normal way gives me a jerky output. So, I thought maybe framserving was my answer for subs but I cannot get it to work. I've searched these forums and Google for an answer to this and I can't find any definitive answers. I've tried many things that were eluded to that might work but to no avail.

    Someone please help!!

    VDub 1.4.13
    TMPGEnc 2.58
    Win XP
Nimo Codec pack (I know many ppl don't like this, but everything is working fine with it, except this. )

If anyone needs some more info, let me know, I'd be happy to provide it to solve this, my encoding was going to well, now I'm stuck.

  4. OK, I tried disabling the DirectShow filter in TMPGEnc, saw that somewhere, still no go. Why can't I frameserve!! And why am I not getting any responses? I mean tons of ppl frameserve and not even an idea?? I'm open to trying things but I need some thoughts!

    Thanks.

  5. Well Jake, it looks like only me and you in this thread... I found a solution.

I kept wondering why it was such a big deal to save the vdr file with an avi extension. I was trying to open up the vdr/avi file by going to File...Open Project and changing to All Files rather than clicking the nice little Browse... button for the video source, below the display window.

Oh, and if you get some error that it can't open the file, check your Environmental Settings in TMPGEnc and lower the DirectShow priority. I reset them to defaults and it worked. I also tried it with a plain vdr extension and that worked fine too.

    Hope you see this!
