hi
when i set a font, it's color and position for a sub file in textSub, it works fine if I do a 1 pass encoding
but for some reason if i do a multipass encoding, the settings are reset and the subtitles are present on the resulting vid, but with default position, font, size, ect...
i guess i'm doing something wrong, but i can't seem to find what
anyone can help?
thanks

Haven't done that with subs, but I suspect you would have to add the subs on the second pass. The first pass just measures the bitrate needed for the scenes and may mess up the subs settings.

Someone with more sub experience with VD can probably give you a better answer.

Thanks for your answer, I wasn't aware that's what a 1rst pass does
I use to make 3 passes encoding in order to limit the quality loss to a minimum

I will try this (setting the subs only for pass 2 and pass 3)
Unfortunately, I have no video to encode atm, but tomorrow or the day after at most I should be able to test the method

Of course, I'll keep you informed

I found the time to make a test: it didn't work, the subs are on the video, but with default settings
