Got my new computer with Windows 7 64 bit up and running, and now I'm attempting to get all my video production tools operating. Here's my problem: I installed the latest version of VirtualDub, 1.9.7, and followed its help instructions to install the frameserver stuff for 64 bit systems. I did the reboot as directed, but I cannot get TMPGEnc to accept the vdr file as a known avi type. I have the TMPGEnc vfapi stuff enabled as well. I could not find any useful info anywhere else, so I hope someone around here knows how to get this vdub frameserver to TMPGEnc stuff going on Windows 7 64 bit. Thanks!

You could also try VFAPI Reader and then open the fake avi in tmpgenc.

Got the frameserver to work with TMPGEnc by using the 32 bit version of VirtualDub. I was using the 64 bit version before (a complete waste of time). Sorry to be a bother, thanks for you interest.
Nice to have 5 year old tools that still do the job quite nicely. TMPGEnc is now read/write limited by my capture disk, my 860 i7 core threads are only at 45% when encoding and that's when it's directly reading the AVI file.Usually long gone and forgotten
