Ok i am ripping my DVD's to HD and then using the DVD2AVI converter to make the 2 individual files. Then i want to make the file into AVI format. But when i use Virtualdub and the convert section of this website for reference, i starte the conversion and the program freezes. Before all this it said something about the program could lock up for having hacked codecs. Before all this i try using this webpage settings for the conversion and my virtualdub dont have some of those settings that this webpage has. I updated my virtualdub. I am trying to take my rips and put them in AVI format, so what can i do now ?

1. PLEASE post in correct forum. everything about dvd ripping in the dvd ripping forum , even if its converrrrrsion.

Making an AVI file should be no problem at all.
FlaskMpeg is the easiest solution.
It reads DVD *.ifo files. It outputs directly to AVI using the video and audio codec of your choice. It even supports subtitles.
This way you only have to use 1 application to create you AVI file. A good way to start.
There is a very nice flaskMpeg guide at the following link:

Hope this helps. Have fun!
