  1. All,

If any of you have a NEC 1300 can you tell me where i can get some cheap DVD-rs that are compatible with this drive (i cant flash my drive - firmware for some reason).

Im in the UK and the best deals i have foud are with ritek but it is still over £1.20 per dvd in packs of 100s.

    thanks

  2. What firmware do you have? I have 1.05 and I can burn Princo 1x DVD-R's with out any problems. I got them for $1 each. Although my next batch of discs will be Ritek 4x becuase they seem to have better reviews in the DVDmedia list. Even though I haven't had any problems with Princo I will spend the extra $0.2 per disc on Ritek 4x just in case. Oh also for the 4x speed.

Check those websites that advertize on this site.

  3. I have 1.05 firmware. The firmware update wont work on my pc for some reason but the updated update probably will however i wil have to de-install every burner i have (Nero, clone etc).

I tried princo *4 and they didnt work but if *1 will then i may give them a go.

    thanks

  4. It could be that Princo may or may not work depending on the manufactureing batch??????? To be safe that's why Im going to switch to Ritek which has been listed as working on NEC drive.

Where did you get the 4x and what are they called? I'm in the US, btw. I swear, I haven't seen ANYONE agree on media. I just want to know a better than x1 speed burning disc -R that isn't insanely expensive. I'm currently using the GO3's at 1x.

Take a look at refreshcomputers.com, they are based in Hampshire (about a 5 minute walk from me). They do carry a fair range of media in most formats, I use Ritek or another nameless one I forget, in my NEC ND1100a, but of course thats DVD+R, and I paid £1-20 on saturday for some. There seemed to be very little, if any difference between +r and-r prices the last time I looked.
