Okay, I've just written this message once and of course my browser had to lose it. So here I go, writing the whole damn thing again.
My main problem is this. I am using Studio DV 7.01 to edit a video. The sound during and/or after some transitions (it varies from session to session) stutters or goes completely silent. Every session, music does not play - so I have to delete the music, save the project, open new project, open project I just had open, add the music, and then it plays.
To remedy this, I did the following things; none of them worked:
1. Update Motherboard Driver (made my video run like a dream though)
2. Download Latest Sound Card Driver (This was a Half-Duplex Card) - Soundblaster 16 PnP
3. Update to Studio 7.15, and 7.11 at one point
4. Download Pinnacle PPE tool (optimizes something to do with the PCI slots apparently)
5. Shut down as many running processes as possible
6. Isolated the DV Card and Sound Card on individual IRQs
7. Changed my Sound Card for a full duplex (SoundBlaster 16 PCI 128 or something) with the latest drivers
Can anyone help me any further?
Plus, I'm very desperate now to deinterlace my video. I've tried to render my film as an avi file, but of course, it just crashes. The best way I know of deinterlacing is to connect two Sony camcorders up to each other, one with the footage in, one with a blank tape in - play the footage in progressive scan (Flash Motion up one notch) and record on the other. This is perfect - however, I currently do not have access to two Sony camcorders. VirtualDub looks dodgy and I've never got it to work properly. Anyway, I don't have any AVI files to work with.
I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some idea of how to deinterlace (BY THE WAY, THIS IS GOING ON DVD!!! So if anyone knows of how to burn a film to DVD in progressive scan I would be very grateful if you could help me) and also if you could help me with my sound problem then that would be brilliant, as I'm really restricted for time now and this has to be done within the next 10 days.
Next time, I'll have learnt my lesson, hopefully, and I'll use Adobe Premiere 6. If I can learn how to use it.
Thanks a lot
Jonny B
