Hi
I`m new to dvd writing and have just got a panasonic ld 311 1x dvd writer.
I know that if I use 4x discs I can still only burn at 1x but will they work or do I have to stick with 1x discs.?
The reason I`m asking is that my local shop is stocking 4x discs only and not 1x for the same price.
I tried a 4x disc and it failed to burn with nero, I have had no fails at all with my 1x datawrite discs.
I don`t want to buy a load of discs to find that they won`t work.
Thanks if anyone can shed some light on the subject.![]()

Depends on the brand.
My LF-D311 will not burn Optodisc 4x, errors out at ~25%. Poor results with Lead Data 4x (DupEz, Accu, PioData), and poor results with Samsung BeAll 4x.
Ritek 4x and Prime 4x burn just fine.
I've used both A127 and A128 firmwares. No difference between the two.
