I think you might need something like QCast Tuner to play Divx on your PS2. It's $50 and available here: http://www.broadq.com/qcasttuner/. You also need the PS2 network adapter. I don't know about CDs and DVDs with Divx files.
I like systems, their application excepted. (George Sand, translated from French), "J'aime beaucoup les systèmes, le cas d'application excepté."

Like Wiseweasle says Q-cast tuner is great for playing Divx movies without going through a lot of hassle

There is also a ps2reality Divx player

But before you can use this you have to have your ps2 modfied by modchip or use a boot disk like the swap magic or gameshark with a no solder/flip-top type swap trick

once you unrar the zip file then you burn the .bin file using toast under the disk image setting.

The program is for your ps2 you insert the disk to boot the ps2reality program then insert you divx movie into your ps2

before you can use this you have to have your ps2 modfied by modchip or use a boot disk like the swap magic or gameshark with a no solder/flip-top type swap trick

Did you burn the bin using the disk image option in toast?

If that doesnt work try burn the .bin and .cue file using firestarter

Also what chip or swap method are you using (fliptop/slide-card/no solder) do you use?

    With swap magic

You just boot up your swap magic cd then when it says start then do your knifetrick/swap method like a regular ps2 cd backup

Where are you guys getting this file? I've been looking for it for awhile, but it's hard to find. Can you post a link to it perhaps...I've got a modchip and would really like to start playing Divx movies on ma PS2!

    TIA

    Hey

Just to let everyone know. I got the Divx Player going on my PS2. Mine's modded, so that would make a big difference. Actually, the copy of the player that I got came with an ISO disk image that basically had the perfect layout for the CD. So i just opened it up in toast and burned it. The only thing i can't get to work is burning an AVI on a cd. It's not just a matter of making a 9660 XA CD and throwing the file onto it. There's something you've got to get right, because when i load the divx player, you take the player cd out and throw a CD with the AVI into the PS2. When the divx player looks at the CD it doesnt list the AVI i've burnt onto it.

I named the CD "MATRIX_CD" and just threw "MATRIX.AVI" into the root directory. Does anything about that seem flaky? I burned it as a 9660 CD XA, just like any other PS2 disc.
