  1. I have "Prolink Pixelview PlayTV HD" card based on Conexant CX23881 chip. It can capture up to 720x480 with WDM supported driver.

I would like to capture to make CVD (352x576) PAL, but I cannot captuer above ___x480.

What should I do, which resolution will be best to capture for my projects ?

Any other ideas. As far I know there isn't any tweaked drivers for that chip.

  2. same problem here,

the chip itself supports full 768x576 capture, but i dont think Prolink has implimented that,
not sure its thats a hardware limitation or a driver limitation (i hope the latter)

the best cap resolution for PAL i have found is 1/2 288x384

i am trying to find a proggy that will support a higher res
iuVCR can do 640x480 but comes out blocky

I'm not familiar with the software that comes with the Prolink Pixelview PlayTV HD card, but is there any chance, in there, it might allow you to do a "custom" capture profile. If so, you may be able to select the required resolution there. I have seen this kind of problem with the ATI MMC (the presets don't necessarily have the resolution I wanted) and I was able to go through "custom" and do it.

  4. yeah good idea

but the software that came with i have hardly used, pretty average

i try and cap with iuVCR and AVI-IO

iuVCR limits me to 640x480 and AVI-io limits me to 352x288

i hope BTwincap like drivers are developed for this chipset soon

hmmm CXwincap, sounds nice huh ???

  5. you can edit in the registry the resolution of th iuVCR

    easy done,

jsut change the value to decimal, and change to the desired height and width

then open up iuVCR and save it as a preset, coz once you change it in iuVCR you cant get it back, (need to load preset)

    EASYYY!!
    and its great!!!

  6. I have the playTV HD card, I haven't tweaked any registry settings or anything like that, and I've been capturing 352x576 for my CVDs since I've had the card I'm using VirtualVCR, and everything is fine. It lets you set custom capture res and doesn't complain when you choose 352x576, give it a go.

  7. yeah i use Virtual VCR just exclusively now for capturing and watching TV.

VV is the best and it is free!!
