Well I have never had problems capturing things to vcd after fiddling with settings and what not, but no matter what I seem to do i can't get things to fit on a dvd-r. I have been trying to captur the 90210 commercial pilot and everytime I do it using the standard dvd setting its like 4.7 gig or higher and the video is only 1.5 hours. Any help woul dbe appreciated. Thanks!

Try using custom settings in MMC and find out what bitrate to use with a bitrate calculator. You can find one in the tools section. (the dvdrhelp one is the easiest to use).

just author the dvd and then run it through dvdshrink or dvd2one. they will transcode to the correct file size is 15 minutes. don't wast time trying to fiddle with your capture settings.
