  1. I have a DIVX movie that has a frame rate at 25fps. should i convert with ntscfilm or ntsc?

    is it progressive ? if so just use v-dub or avsynth and set frame rate to 24fps and frame serve out to your encoder (set encoder to 23.97 progressive) and apply pulldown externally or with main concept or tmpgenc you can set 23.97 internal / 29.97 external (MC does a really quick job at this) ..

    extract the audio w/ goldwave from the divx and use either besweet built in frame rate changer or I use Vegas and insert the new video on the time line and drop in the wav file i saved out of goldwave and stretch the audio perserving pitch which takes like 2 seconds to do and directly re-encode it back to ac3 from the time line ..

    done ..

    takes less than a hour for an almost 2 hour film ...

    BUT i just read the last couple days here that you can just change the ifo files from pal to ntsc and that works fine (i didnt know that and have not tried it myself)
