  1. The other day i downloaded an xvid file,not the first.When i went to tmpgnec to encode i kept getting an error.I asked why and was told to change the codec.Ive changed the xvid codec now i cant even get the file to play any more.When i try to open it it says error downloading codec and plays just the audio.Ive now tried 2 xvid codec (including changing the 4cc) and divx 5.0.5.codec,the ffd show and the kazzaa lite codec pac and still cant get the file to play.I would have said it was a bad file but icould see it playing on media player before i messed with the codecs.So has anybody got any ideas on how to get it playing again.If i open the file with g spot it says 2 compatible codec are installed.But it still wont play.

  2. get xvid again. change the fourcc back to xvid.
    if you cant play the video, put it into virtualdub, choose video->direct stream copy and Audio->direct stream copy, then save as a NEW avi.

    should work after that.

    then, in tmpegenc:
    go to options->environmental settings->vfapi plugin
    you should see directshow multimedia file reader or something like that down near the bottom, right click and give it higher priority. i gave mine the highest priority and now it opens everything.
    poop.

  4. Now also tried the nimo codec pack and something called Gordian Knot codec pack.I think its best i stop now and get rid of the lot to be honest.Maybe get rid of the file and see if i can download another version.Or is there anything else to try?.

  5. Wot is the best way of getting rid of all these packs,is it just through the add and remove programs?Or will this leave certain items still installed?
