I just bought this DVD player which is named JDV DVD-108. I know this $10 player can handle VCD, SVCD and MP3 discs, but I'm not quite sure about DVD-R or DVD+R. Also I have no clue the difference between those formats.

    Can anybody help me out?

P.S. I have already browsed through the DVD players compatibility page and found nothing.

  2. Just test to use a written disc.

The formats are basically the same...

sorry, in this case, you may need to do a test run...maybe you have a friend who's burning DVDs and ask them to test one of theirs on your dvd player...

Yep, only way to learn is to test. Invest in DVD-RW or DVD+RW discs.
I'm not online anymore. Ask BALDRICK, LORDSMURF or SATSTORM for help. PM's are ignored.

DVD-RW/+RW compatibility may not necessarily be indicative of DVD-R/+R compatibility, as some players may support -R/+R, but not -RW/+RW
