    hi, my dad burnt a dvd image using nero to a dvd-r but when doing it he forgot to tick the finalize box in options, how do you finalize the dvd after it has been written? do i need to use a different program?

    You need to burn the image again to a different dvd recordable and finalize that one.

    Finalize gets the disc ready for playback.

    More than likely the other disc is a coaster.
