Thanks for reading - this is my first post here, and I'm new to digital video, too.
I have all the hardware I need to begin the project (video capture card, laserdisc player, etc) as well as all the software I need (I think). Thing is, I have no idea how to proceed.
If you don't mind, I'd like your advice on:
1) how best to capture film coming into my computer through composite video (RCA cables)
2) how to convert it to MPEG
3) how to get more than one hour of high-quality video on a DVD
